The Green Scene is a showcase of student sustainability achievements through visual arts. Using film and fashion, these student projects display the creative aspect of environmental awareness and sustainability.


Through a unique collaboration with the UCSD Schools for Schools Club, The Green Scene will close Earth Week 2009 with a night of entertainment, sustainability and social justice. Purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win great prizes, with all proceeds to be donated to Sacred Heart Secondary School in Uganda, supported by the Schools for Schools Club. This national organization’s fundraising efforts support northern Uganda youth by helping to build schools, freshwater wells, provide school supplies and more. VidFest
From Here to Sustainability: Changing the World One Film at a Time
5–6:30 p.m.
This student film festival will feature public service announcements and short films. Contest winners will be announced at the screening. Get details.

Intermission: 6:30–7 p.m.

 

Charity Eco-Fashion Show featuring Project Trashion
7–9 p.m.
Bringing together student designers, local boutiques and national brands, the Eco-Fashion Show will highlight sustainable materials and design in fashion today.
